\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor this reason, ever since I started receiving commissions to make moulds and blocks for the creation of hats and fascinators, I have been making these pieces with great care and attention to detail, and in many cases with the participation of the clients, who have been teaching me the requirements of this particular craft.

\n\nI first came into contact with handmade hats in 2015, when I took part in various craft fairs and exhibitions.<\/strong> Since then, I have focused my work in \u2018 La Gubia \u2019 on the creation of moulds, hat blocks, and tools for this little-known discipline.

\n\nSince 2018 I’ve been part of the founding cooperative that manages the co-working space and shared workshop Espacio T11 .<\/strong> Our aim from the beginning has been to fit out and adapt two of the main premises on the first floor of the former ‘Fern\u00e1ndez y Roche’ hat factory in Seville to the needs of both a co-working space and a workshop for woodworking. And as fate would have it, I’m following on with the same activities that were carried out here from the end of the 19th century until around 1996, when this old building fell into disuse and was listed as part of the city’s industrial heritage. And here, from \u2018my corner\u2019, I continue to carve and create wooden blocks for hats and fascinators.

I don’t have a catalogue, or pieces in stock; I make each hat block to order, according to each client’s indications. <\/strong>The advantage to this approach is that by creating each piece by hand, and one by one, I can make any modification or change in terms of measurements, shapes, and\/or details that a client may want to add. My creations range from the most classic and simple shapes to the most elaborate and exclusive pieces. If necessary, I first draw and model them, then \u2013 after the supervision and approval of the client \u2013 carve and shape them in wood. In this way, both the variety of models in the collection and my own experience is continually expanding. I always try to maintain very competitive prices, both because I understand that these commissions are not mere decorative whims, but valuable resources for the artistic creations of my clients, and also because it is in everyone’s interest to keep these crafts alive and viable. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
